Tryst at College

I thought it was yet another boring day but things began to happen as the day progressed. Life is the name of a game which can never be predicted because the games it plays are dark indeed. As I sat inside the lecture hall, I was drowned in a state of being sleep induced as though I had been under some narcotic spell. The drowsiness in me volatilized as I felt the touch of a soft hand. There was a girl sitting beside me and she was waking me up at the instruction of our Course Instructor. The way he was staring at me was making me scared. He looked like a ghost to me for I was in a state of hallucination. He asked me a weird question. (All questions whose answers are unknown are supposed to be weird)

'A girl in vicinity keeps all sleep away.' I realized it when I felt the touch of her hand for the second time. She was pouring into me a wave of energy that synergized my deteriorating hope. It gave me a spark so rare that I managed to answer the question the Prof. asked me even when I knew only half of the answer. I never had the confidence in me to get an answer right but an invisible power was making this possible. Is this love? No, it was instinct.

Gradually, the shine of her eyes brightened my mundane day and made it enticing. As she concentrated on the lecture, I kept concentrating on her. For the first time this semester, I felt the lecture so interesting that I did not want it to end. I no longer felt sleepy and she was now playing the actress of the last night's movie in my mind. She definitely looked better in my mind than in the clothes she wore. (No pun intended)
